The 2011 Art Auction & Gala is a celebration of the Burchfield Penney Art Center's 45th anniversary. Since 1966, the Burchfield Penney has served as the home for Western New York art. A sapphire—the traditional gift commemorating four-and-a-half decades—is a fitting symbol for this special occasion. The deep hues, shimmering highlights, and many facets of the stone reflect the vision of a diverse group of artists and the rich cultural landscape of our region. Join us Friday, October 28 as we toast the past, revel in works of art, and embark on an exciting future together.

ART AUCTION
More than 70 of the region's most accomplished artists are featured in this year's Art Auction. Their creativity and generosity epitomize the spirit of the Western New York cultural community.
The majority of the works will be part of a Silent Auction,
while selected works will be part of a Live Auction led by Cash Cunningham.
This year, there will be an additional special auction item—a Tour of Tuscany. This priceless vacation for two includes behind-the-scenes tours, deluxe accommodations, winery visits and tastings, five-star meals, and airfare departing from Buffalo. Courtesy of The Premier Group.
ENTERTAINMENT
Music by After Hours during the cocktail hour.
Cocktails & Dinner
While you're enjoying cocktails and a selection of hors d'oeuvres, bidding will be open on the silent auction items. A formal dinner prepared by Oliver's will follow, with wine pairing selections. During dinner the live auction will take place.
Venice Vacation Drawing
Enter to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two to Venice, Italy. One lucky couple will enjoy a rare opportunity to experience Venetian culture, tour wineries, and explore the scenic beauty of Italy. The drawing will take place at the Gala, but if you are unable to attend, you are still welcome to purchase tickets for this raffle.
The trip will take place February 15 – 21, 2012.
Tickets are $50 each. A limited number will be sold.
The trip includes:
- Round trip airfare for two from Buffalo to Venice
- Deluxe accommodations in Soave and Treviso
- Tours of multiple wineries and vineyards
- Exceptional dining, plus a free day in Venice
